How I Got Into MED SCHOOL | My Pre-Med Journey | Doctor Mike

Hey, guys! I know that a lot of you have been requesting a video of my pre-med or med school journey. Although I have unique pre med experience as I did an accelerated 7-year program, there is still a lot of insight for me to share with you,. This video covers everything from high school to college all the way to med school. Basically how I got into medical school and my premed journey.

Initially, this video was over 2 hours long and we were able to cut it down to 20 minutes so I can expect for you to have some questions left unanswered. Leave me your medical school questions and comments down below as you know I love to respond to them in my monthly videos.

  1. After hearing your story , I couldn't love your philosophy towards life more. Being positive, experiencing everything and loving your own career are things you teach me in this video clip. Though I am not a doctor, I think your suggestions are suitable for every job. Thanks for sharing your life with us. Looking forward to watching your next video!

  2. Damn, your dad really loves medicine, I love that and to see that he passed that to you.
Reminds me of my dad and I, he was also a doctor in his country of origin and now I'm on my way to med school.

  3. Dr. Mike, I genuinely want to thank you. I have been facing such a dilemma regarding a lot of myths surrounding Med School, I will do what I love…."Love the process"
You have a good day (keep inspiring)

  4. Currently i’m a freshman at a SU with an early assurance to PA school, required GPA. Your outlook is very inspiring, and uplifting. I cannot see myself doing anything but medicine, and honestly I’m excited. In highschool classes bored me to death except science and medicine (I took an EMT class in highschool) and at the University I think i’m going to meet the adversity with curiosity and a desire to learn. I guess what i’m trying to say, Mike, is thank you for what you’re doing.

  5. Doctor Mike, do medical schools care about a good gpa from an “easy school” vs a decent gpa from a “hard school”?

  6. I WANT TO BECOME A DOCTOR.
I want to make a difference in this world. I want to help people. I am interested in the human body. I want to learn about the human body and how it functions. I know how it feels like when your family member is in critical condition. I never want that to happen to anyone if i am there to help. I cant imagine myself doing anything else. I don’t have a backup plan, i don’t have anything else i want to do. I want to be a doctor so bad. But realistically it is a dream too far away. My grades aren’t good enough, i’m not confident that i can get into med school. I’m 16, i have 2 years to prepare for an exam which will tell me whether i can enter med-school or not. I am so scared. I don’t want to fail.

  7. Im currently in 8th grade and I just recently got the letter that I got into the academy of Health and Science at the high school i’m going to next year! I’m so excited and I can’t wait to start! Your videos make me so happy and they really do inform me ! :)

  8. I don't even want to be a doctor yet your perpective on life and genuine personality inspires me to learn more about your journey! I'm in the process of pursuing my CPA and your thoughts on worrying about every test that comes my way is not the way to live my life. While I am currently taking 6 classes and managing an internship at a local accounting firm, I almost have exams every two weeks and it can very stressful at times. However, by focusing on the obstacles that I am facing at the moment and taking them as they come gives me an alternate perspective on this way of life. As two very educated individuals, it's intriguing to learn about the journey of an individual who went down a completely different path then me. While certain aspects of medince interest me such as orthopedics, I respect the dedication and perseverance that you exhibited throught your medical journey. What I would like to know about you is why family medicine as opposed to oncology or varying form of medicine?

  9. First I wanted to be an engineer like my dad then I wanted to be a vet now I want to be a doctor. What type? Hell if I know
